What's your FAVORITE day in the entire year. For me its my BIRTHDAY. We all love our birthday's. Who doesn't? This celebration is so lovely that we continue celebrating it even if the person doesn't exist now; for eg: Gandhi jayanthi, Guru Nanak jayanthi, etc. And guess whoz BIRTHDAY is coming up this week. She is the most important person in our lives. She takes care of us, she gives us the 5 elements, and she is the mother to millions of people whom she still carries them in her womb. She is MOTHER EARTH. I feel that we all have 2 mothers. One who carries us for the FIRST 9 months of our life and then comes Mother Earth who carries us for the rest of our live. And her BIRTHDAY, as observed by man, is on APRIL 22.

The Mother has so many children - You, me and every single living thing that breaths air, drinks water and plays in the soil. I'm not gonna tell about Global Warming or Pollution or Non-renewable resources or any thing else like that. We all know what they mean and we all are trying to do something about it. I'm trying to discuss with you what Birthday gift shall we get for our Lovely Mother. Shall we get her a Cake, may be she cant cut it. Shall we get her an iPod, may be she cant listen. Shall we get her a saree, may be she cant wear it. I sat today quietly, musing on what is the perfect present that shall make her happy. As at the end of the day what we all need is SHE BEING HAPPY. Then my conscience smote me and I thought differently. Why should we always go for the age old methods of Cake, candles and dinner. Why not start a new generation way of celebrating it. We all know that she doesn't need ice creams, cool drinks, hot drinks. What she needs is - we taking care of each other. Plants ,animals , us and all the species on Earth are related in some way or the other. Our embryos are all the same as we all have a common Mother.

For God knew in His great wisdom
That he couldn't be everywhere,
So he put His little Children
In a loving mother's care.

Common friends lets do it together. Its never late. We still have time. Our brother or sister species are in great danger. We don't have time to think whom to blame. It doesn't do us any good. How we act now is gonna change the face of the earth. Mother nature is so good at heart, she is bearing all the pain that we give without any complaints, because to her we are just her little children who don't know what we are doing. She is still waiting and hoping that one day we all will grow up and take her in our arms. That is the day when she will be PROUD of us. Isn't that LOVELY. Isn't that what we are fighting for. Shouldn't that be what we should live for. Thats why they say that Mother's love is the most complicated and the most inexplicable thing in this world. "It cant be explained, it can only be FELT."

Gifts for mother nature are so beautiful. All you need is just a seed and water. The rest is managed by itself. Please dont tell me you don't have money to buy a small plant. It costs you nothing. If you really don't have money, then here is another idea - You can just break the branch of a tree and plant it in another place. The phenomenon is so impeccable that you can grow a completely new plant from just 1 branch of it. It is said that "A place where you can find God is a GARDEN. You can dig for him there". Now don't tell me that you don't have a garden to plant it. Do it where ever you want, like the Road side, near your doorstep, etc. You have the entire Globe waiting for you.

I personally started celebrating this day since 2005. Every year I and my parents plant a tree on this day. And this year I wished for a Strawberry Tree. So my friend is getting me the branch of Strawberry. I hope that it reaches me on 22nd April. I've been on tenterhooks all week waiting for it. Hurry buddy!!!

I would like to dedicate this blog post to my beloved Grand Father who passed away this year. It was he who told me all this and it was he who worked a lot in my garden for about 10 years. In the picture above you can see me with my best friends Manohar, Ambarish and Ashwin planting a coconut tree. Any guess where am I? That is our FRIENDSHIP tree planted 15 years ago. I ran my hand along the trunk of the tree and put my finger to the tip of a leaf and my thoughts wispered - "It this what it feels like to be GOD !!!"

I love you Grandpa.

Do tell me to which plant did you become a mother to? Lets make sure that our generation does not leave any tread marks of destruction in the sand of time. Let us all prove to Mother Earth that we Love her more that anyone else. How you do it? This I leave it up to your discretion.

!!! Lets stop EXISTING and start LIVING !!!

A BOY's DREAM !!!

"Once there was a Boy. He was born under the shimmering light of the full moon which borrowed the blessings of the sun and was in fact reflecting it on the face of this young boy. He was living in a village far away from the fumes of the city. Under the warmth of his parents, he grew and under the warmth of Nature he flourished. He became 10 years old, but still his life was just an empty page with no headlines to make. So he was sitting alone on a cold stone, under the stars busy glittering on their own. The place was far away from the artificial world created by man. Then came a sound from the forest mound saying to him - Dear son, there are 2 kinds of people in this world. One, the HISTORY READERS and two, the HISTORY MAKERS . The History Reader is the one who came to this world just to see other people do so many things. He doesn't really get himself involved into things but enjoys seeing them happen and if possible comment on them. And on the other side are the History Makers. They are the ones who have the same enjoyment as the Readers but they like doing the things and enjoy it. Well God has only 1 History book and he gave you a chance to live and become either a History Maker or a History Reader.

Thinking deeply about the it, the boy went home took a lot of time where to place himself and took this choice for his LIFE. With this sanguine view, he started off a journey to see the world and thats when he discovered that the World is so huge that his small mind couldn't bear the magnanimity. We are all in a beautiful world of so many extravagant arts and sciences each one inviting us to taste them. Thats when he felt that even if we cant master them, one should least taste every recipe that God made this world with. Years passed, he went on and on learning each and every thing that he ever dream t off. What ever he did, one thing always kept ringing in his years that - these were the Golden seconds of Life. Life in a nutshell is all about what you do when you are young. It is these moments that take your breath away. It is these memories that you would cherish for the rest of his life.

Then he came into his 20s. Just out of teenage with a young blood of passion and love. By now he was writing pages and pages and become a History Maker with so many History Readers all around. As the competitors take to the field, you can feel the anticipation mounting in the audience. Something was different. There's an electricity in the air. The presence of the Boy has completely changed the equation. The final countdown has begun and a stillness has fallen over the stadium as all eyes turn towards one Boy. You know who. He with his unassailable power of will and thought taking its top gear made a great attempt to succeed. And as the saying goes - Success is always in intimate terms with the brave. That was reproved by the Boy at the end of the day. What he won was not only the tag line of History Maker but the thousands of History Readers who are reading about him.

But the boy was perplexed about what did he win. He was looking here and there but couldn't get a clue. There was a huge silence which infuriated him even more. He went and asked every single person about what did he win and thats when there was a huge sound - the ALARM." Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....I woke up. What all just happened? Instead of taking it as a dream. I took it as a trailor that God showed me with the visual-effects not made by some EFX or Hollywood but with my mind itself. In fact, I was happy. I was happy that God gave me an over-night TRAILOR just to tell me that the real movie is gonna be even more longer. God has been so sweet that he gave each one of us a 100 years life-span. So that we can all shoot ourselves not just for 2 hours(like the movies) but for 100 years. So I ran straight away to get ready for SHOOTING. Its a sunny day outside. And the nature is waiting with its lights and camera. All I need to do is "ACT". So friends, groom yourself, love yourself, enjoy yourself and remember the LIFE's LIGHT CAMERA and ACTION !!!
